In the framework of the Project
«Foreign Language Competence Development of TSU Students» and the Journalism
Department,on
Wednesday, March 21, 2018 there was an open lecture from the president of
Goldsmiths College, Patrick Loughrey. It was held in the scientific library for
the students of the journalism department, as well as for those students and
stuff who were interested in the topic. The speaker was talking about the
history and crucial events of the BBC and outstanding people of the
broadcasting corporation. He pointed out that the BBC always interferes with
the government, but at the same time it has always been independent. Mr.
Loughrey was happy to express his point of view about the interaction between Russia and the UK;
and hoped that the partnership between Goldsmiths
University and Tomsk State
University would be even
stronger.
