Computer Science for a Dummy

12 March 2018

March 7, 2018 groups 1171 and 1172 had a joint class. The students tried to teach their lecturer, Aleksandra Nabiullina, some basic computer terms.

Iosif Guzeev introduced different types of computers to the listeners and described their characteristics, limitations, and use. “I really felt like a dummy hearing RAM, PCI, and other unknown words from my students”.

Having discussed various types of computers, the class went on to choose the most popular smartphone in the group. Xiaomi occupied the top of the list.

At the end of the lesson, group 1171 interviewed their beginner colleagues. They asked what laptops or computers they use, what capacity and memory their units have, how many cores they have.

I understood that desktop PCs are much more powerful than laptops or monoblock PCs. If I decide to buy a new PC, I know who will give me advice, says Aleksandra Nabiullina.
