The first-year students enlarge their scope

2 December 2017

Within the project «Foreign Language Competence Development of TSU Students» the first –year students of Radiophysics department visited the Laboratory of Radiophysical and Optical Methods of Environmental Studies (ROMES) on November, 10.

The Phd student Aleksandra Davydova and Master student Nikita Rudofilov held the workshop.

The coordinator of the event was a senior lecturer Olga V. Kharapudchenko.

Testimonials of our students

On November 10 we visited the laboratory of Radiophysical and Optical Methods of Environmental Studies. It is in the laboratory building of Siberian Physical Technical Institute.. The vice rector for academic affairs Victor V. Doymin is a head of this lab. 48 scientists including physicists and programmers conduct interdisciplinary research.

The excursion was organized by a PhD student Aleksandra Davydova and a master student Nikita Rudofilov. A coordinator was a senior lecturer Olga V. Kharapudchenko. In the framework of this excursion the experiment was conducted and a presentation on the latest developments was demonstrated. The latest development is Submersible Holographic Camera for Registration of Plankton.

I liked the excursion because we were shown interesting experiments. The presenters were happy to answer our questions. I believe that such excursion contribute to our professional development.

On November 10, our group visited the Laboratory of Radiophysical and Optical Methods of Ecological Studies. It is situated in the building of Siberian Physical Technical Institute. Our excursion was conducted by a PhD student Alexandra Davydova and a master Nikita Rudofilov. The head of the laboratory is Victor V. Dyomin , Vice rector for academic affairs. 48 scientists carry out research in the laboratory.

We were shown the experiments with plankton during the excursion. The purpose of these experiments is to study the behavior of plankton. And also 3D holograms were demonstrated, one of which showed the emblem of the Russian Federation.

After the second year of study, we will be given the opportunity to choose a direction of my future activity, and this excursion showed me the work of this lab.We improved English communication skills!

On the 10th of November our group 771 visited the Laboratory of Radiophysical and Opticals methods of Environmental Studies. It is situated in the Laboratory building of Siberian Physical Technical Institute. The head of Laboratory is Victor V. Dyomin. In laboratory 48 scientists do research.

The excursion was organized by PhD student Alexandra Davydova and Master student Nikita Rudofilov. 3D images and a submersible holographic camera for registration of plankton were demonstrated. This setup is the latest achievement of the lab. The scientists of the lab do interdisciplinary research. They are physicists, programmers, etc

In my opinion it was useful to visit laboratories because we’ll have a chance to choose a department, now we know what the researchers of the laboratory do.
