The project "Foreign language competence development of TSU students" has started at on the TSU Faculty of History in September, 2017. 

September 20-22 the first-year students of the Faculty have taken the English language test aimed at evaluation of their knowledge. Students of all specialties such as History, Document and Archive Science, Anthropology and Ethnology, International Relations, International Area Studies and Russian Area Studies have been involved in testing. The total number of the first-year students this year is 193, the number of participants amounts to 158, 113 of them have gained 50 or more points out of 100. Students had an opportunity to challenge their competencies of English and identify their own strengths and weaknesses. On the other hand, the professors of English of the department of the European languages have acquired all information necessary for improving the process of studying English at the Faculty of History. The next stage of the project is to arrange master-classes in English, which have been already planned. Master-classes will be held by the professors and postgraduate students of the Faculty of History.
