The volunteer camp ECO CAMP was launched by TSU. It was organized by the centre for the socio-professional volunteer UNIVOL with the support of the interregional volunteer movement Sphere (Nizhny Novgorod). For a week and a half, an international team of university students and volunteers from Egypt, Morocco, and Vietnam will be engaged in improving the springs along University Lake.
Tomsk has more than a thousand springs. The 14 most important from a historical and cultural point of view are located near Tomsk State University: in the Siberian Botanical Garden and near the fourth building of TSU along University Lake. The environmental team that maintains the purity near the springs has been involved in UNIVOL since last year.
- This year we decided to organize an international volunteer camp, to draw attention to the preservation of the springs - said Christina Ugolnikova, the organizer of the camp. - We are planning to create a picturesque rest area here for TSU students, faculty, staff, and everyone.
- I want to study in Russia, so I study the Russian language and biology. I was very interested in this unusual volunteer camp! TSU is a very large and beautiful university, and all the volunteers here are kind and smiling - shared Kamal Zouani, a volunteer from Morocco.
