TSU library became a member of the IATUL

Tomsk State University has become a member of the International Association of University Libraries - IATUL (International Association of University Libraries). TSU is the second Russian member of this worldwide organization. The official representative of the university in the association is its Research Library.

The initiator of joining IATUL was the TSU Research Library. At the end of September 2020, the TSU Board of Trustees unanimously gave a positive opinion on the participation of Tomsk State University in the association. In November, the university's application was approved: Tomsk University and its Research Library became the second Russian member of IATUL. Before that, the only representative of Russia in the association was the State Public Scientific and Technical Library of Russia.

- Having become a member of IATUL, Tomsk University and the Research Library have the opportunity to take part in the work of the global community: annual conferences, seminars, trainings, and internships,- commented Artyom Vasiliev, Director of the TSU Research Library. - This will increase the level of internationalization and position the Research Library at the level of the international library community.

IATUL also provides university scholars with access to high-quality academic translation and editing, and library researchers will be able to apply for grant support from the association.
