Joint Russian-Norwegian scientific and educational project invites you

7 March 2018

The Faculty of Physics of Tomsk State University announces the recruitment of students for participation in the joint Russian-Norwegian scientific and educational project Optical Probe Sensors at Biological Environments (OPS @ BE) (2018-2020).

Who can apply: students of 3 and 4 courses, Master’s and graduate students of TSU and other universities of Russia, interested in photophysics and photochemistry of organic compounds and biological materials and their use in modern biophotonics and medicine.

Requirements for applicants: an understanding of the basic photophysical fundamentals and principles of quantum organic photochemistry, knowledge of English

How the program is organized: Intensive training in the format of research internships and research and educational schools on four thematic modules in four participating universities:•    Computational chemistry research project, University of Tromsø, Norway, 2 months (March-April 2019)
•    Experimental advanced fluorescence spectroscopy of organic molecules and biological systems, Tomsk State University, 2 months (March-April 2020)
•    Advanced optical methods to study DNA complexes, St. Petersburg, 2 weeks (June 2019)
•    Multiscale modeling for molecular properties, Oslo, Norway, 2 weeks (June 2020)

What will be in the program: Excellent career prospects, the opportunity to connect to the implementation of joint research projects, a unique learning experience in four leading universities in Russia and Norway. All courses will be transfer credit and included in the individual curriculum of the student, in agreement with the heads of the main educational programs.
