7 September 2016

September 6, the British consulting company Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has published a list of the best universities in the world. According to QS World University Rankings 2016/17, TSU improved its position by 104 points compared with the last year and took 377th place.

In particular, the growth of such indicators as the number of international students and teachers was noted. In 2016 students from 37 countries (including the first time students from Jordan and Ghana) entered TSU, they will learn here the Russian language and literature, develop economic and historical specialties, and computer science.

- This is the result of systematic work of the collective in many areas - said Eduard Galazhinsky, Rector of TSU. - The main thing that shows this growth is that we have already mastered the international standards. I expect that regardless of the available resources, we will continue this movement, because the restructuring of the work format has already occurred, and ratings show this.

In 2012 TSU for the first time ranked in the QS World University Rankings, since the University was able to climb up to 174 lines.

The QS World University Rankings is one of the most prestigious world university rankings. The company Quacquarelli Symonds publishes the other authoritative rankings in which TSU is also increasing every year. In particular, in 2016 the University of Tomsk took 43rd place in the BRICS 2016, 20th in the ranking of universities Emerging Europe and Central Asia, and also entered the world's top 300 in 2 subject areas: Physics and Astronomy and Modern Languages.
