29 February 2016

TSU became a member of the European University Continuing Education Network (EUCEN), which consists of more than 180 members from 36 countries. TSU became one of four Russian universities to join the organization.

EUCEN plays an important role in the political arena. The association is represented in a number of committees and advisory boards at the European level. It provides experts for international projects and consults universities through the organization of conferences, projects, and joint activities.

- The mission of the association is to promote continuing education in universities and promoting their introducing amendments to state policy, - said Galina Mozhayeva, director of the Institute of Distance Education TSU. - Members of the association have the opportunity to share their experiences in addressing the pressing issues of norms and standards, as well as to coordinate and maintain the level of quality of continuing education with other leading European organizations.

Work under EUCEN will allow efficiently developing continuing education at TSU. Also joining the association will enhance TSU’s international prestige.

June 1-3, Dublin City University (Ireland) will hold the 48th Conference of EUCEN, bringing together representatives of member universities. A key theme of the conference will be Crossing Borders Through Lifelong Learning: Enhancing Quality and Equity in Higher Education.
