TSU will prepare projects for the start-up accelerator Generation S

9 October 2017

Tomsk State University has become one of the infrastructure partners of the Dual Technologies track of the accelerator Generation S. 17 projects of TSU, TUSUR, Institute of Atmospheric Optics SB RAS, and the group of companies Elecard took part in the pitch session.

The track Dual Technologies organizes subsidiary funds of RVC JSC. The industrial partner of the competitive direction is OJSC Voentelecom, and partners are JSC Ruselectronics and PJSC Ilyushin Aviation Complex. Tomsk State University has become one of the infrastructure partners. Preliminary selections and assistance in preparing  projects for participation in the accelerated programme were held at the University.

- We are looking for projects that can be implemented on existing capacities of our industrial partners through diversification. And this list of industrial partners is expanding. Therefore, when selecting them, the key criterion will be the commercial potential of developments, - says Denis Grishanov, the head of the Dual Technologies track from subsidiary funds of RVC JSC. We are looking for technologies that clearly need to be commercialized through the defense industry complex system, as well as those that can be done for the civil sector using defense industry complex capacities.

The track Dual Technologies includes nine spheres for selection of projects: big data, artificial intelligence, distributed registry systems, new and portable energy sources, new production technologies, sensors and components of robotics, design and modeling, wireless technologies, technologies for managing the properties of biological objects, cognitive technologies and neuro-technologies, and technologies of virtual and augmented realities.

According to Olga Babkina, Deputy Vice-Rector for Innovation, it is interesting for both start-ups and existing developments:

- For start-ups, this is a chance to get an industrial base and mentors from industrial companies, as well as a guide in state structures for finalizing a technology and product. A subsidiary funds investment manager of RVC JSC will control the already-formed developments and will help to prepare the project for investors, and in 2018, following the results of the accelerating program of the track, to present it to the investment committee of RVC subsidiaries and industrial partners for large investments.

Applications for participation in the track Dual Technologies are accepted on http://generation-startup.ru until November 1. Consultations may be obtained at the Innovation Management Department of TSU 8 (3822) 783-725 or by mail: inno@mail.tsu.ru
