A mobile developer has created a specialized course for TSU students

The Faculty of Informatics of Tomsk State University, in collaboration with Space-O Technologies, has created a course on mobile development. It is based on a similar course at Stanford University (USA) and is now included in the curriculum of the Software Engineering programmes.

- The company was interested in the graduates of TSU mastering the process of mobile development, getting the appropriate competencies, and forming the labor market of mobile developers in Tomsk, said Oleg Zmeev, Vice-Rector for IT Development, head of the Department of Software Engineering. - As a result, a partnership project was established between the Faculty of Informatics and the company.

The company Space-O Technologies is a developer of mobile applications. The development centres are in India, Russia, and Vietnam, and the sales office is in the USA. Tomsk has one of the company’s offices, whose founder and leader is Evgeniy Erin, a former student of the Faculty of Informatics.

Collaboration with Space-O Technologies is conducted in several areas. In addition to the jointly developed course, there are corporate scholarships that the company allocates to students, graduate students, and young teachers interested in mobile development.

In the collaboration, there also appeared a branded classroom №104 in the second building of the University and an iMac class in the TSU Research Library. Students who are interested in the mobile development are offered topics for final qualification works and places for practice and summer internships.
