Radiation imaging detectors will be discussed at TSU

13 January 2017

On 20-22 February, 2017, TSU will hold the first international workshop devoted to the radiation imaging detectors based on GaAs: Cr. TSU colleagues from research centres in the UK, Germany, and Switzerland will participate. The workshop will discuss the results of the testing of GaAs: Cr sensors and questions on improving the characteristics of the material.

TSU possesses a unique technology of compensation of gallium arsenide with chrome, which allows obtaining a high-resistance material that is used to create X-ray detectors. Studies of the sensors are taking place not only in Tomsk but also abroad, in such research centres as  University of Freiburg (FMF), Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR), the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (STFC RAL), the German Electron Synchrotron (DESY), European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF), and the Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI).

City tours and visits to the museums of TSU await the participants of the workshop.

The workshop will take place in the conference hall of Bon Apart Hotel, which has all equipment needed for presentations.

Registration and abstract submission are requested before December 22, 2016.

Proceedings will be published in the Russian Physics Journal
