The Grant Contest is regularly held in order to identify, support, and spread the best initiatives improving education and research practices. Such initiatives are to be implemented and used on a permanent basis.

Grant Contest Improving Educational & Research Practices at TSU

The Grant Contest is regularly held in order to identify, support, and spread the best initiatives improving education and research practices. Such initiatives are to be implemented and used on a permanent basis. The contest is organized and held within the programme for improving TSU competitiveness.

Any university professor, member of the staff, post-graduate or PhD student can come up with an idea of a project that will be presented in a contest application.

Contest Application Categories:

·         Enhancing Quality of Education at TSU

·         Enhancing Effectiveness of Research Organization

Timing and Details

Application Period: November 5 – 15

Contest participants fill out the application form and send it to the contest operator. The application is posted on TSU website on the page Bank of Initiatives. If an application fits the contest concept, its authors are invited to participate in the following contest stages.  

Describing the initiative: November 16 – 20

The participants work out the detailed description of the project (Appendix 2).

Presenting the initiative:  November 21

The participants present the idea to the panel of experts.

Grants awarded: November 21 - 25

The experts vote for the best projects, the contest results are presented, and the conditions of project implementation are discussed with the winners.

Implementation and results reported: November 26 – December 20

After implementing the projects, the winners report on the project results at the conference of grant recipients.

Second Grant Contest Improving Educational & Research Practices at TSU

The grant contest is held in order to identify, support, and spread the best initiatives improving education and research practices. Such initiatives are to be implemented and used on a permanent basis. The contest is organized and held within the programme for improving TSU’s competitiveness.

Any University professor, member of the staff, postgraduate or PhD student can come up with an idea for a project that will be presented in a contest application.

  • Enhancing the Quality of Education at TSU
  • Enhancing the Effectiveness of Research Organization
  • Attracting Talented University and Secondary School Students to Education and Research at TSU
  • Accomplishing TSU's Social Mission

Timing and Details

Application period: March 30  – April 10

The participants work out the detailed description of the project (Appendix 2).

The participants present the idea to the panel of experts.

Grants awarded: April  29 – 30

The experts vote for the best projects, the contest results are presented, and the conditions of project implementation are discussed with the winners.

Implementation and results Reported: May 1 – June 30

After implementing the projects, the winners report on the project results at the conference of grant recipients.

Third Grant Contest Improving Educational & Research Practices at TSU

Timing and Details

Preliminary period: September 29  – October 23

1.    Prospective participants meet the contest consultant and discuss the initiative (to make an appointment call the contest coordinator Maria, 8-903-950-4272).

2.    The participants review the contest application form (http://innomap.tsu.ru/UploadFiles/5542.doc) and the requirements for the contest project description (http://innomap.tsu.ru/UploadFiles/6566.doc).

3.    Contest participants fill out the application form and send it to the contest operator (noc-proekt@mail.tsu.ru). The deadline for application submission is October 22.  The application is posted on the TSU website on the page ‘Bank of Initiatives’ http://innomap.tsu.ru/Initiative .

4.    Detailed project description is sent to the contest operator (noc-proekt@mail.tsu.ru). The deadline for application submission is October 23. 

Experts Review and Grants Awarded: October 26 – November 6

  • The members of the panel of experts review the applications.
  • The experts vote for the best projects.
  • The participants present their projects to the panel of experts.
  • The contest results are presented, and the conditions of project implementation are discussed with the winners.

Implementation and Results Reported

  • The results of the projects implemented during next two months by the recipients of mini-grants are presented in January 2016.
  • The results of the projects aimed at new developing mechanisms approbation are presented in May/ June 2016).
